Quick and (very) easy installation of the USB-Modem Icon 225 on (k)ubuntu 9.04.

This site helped me the most and I just followed its short guide: http://www.linuxhorizon.ro/icon225.html

I will write a short summary here:

1. Download Software: http://www.equinoxefr.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/icon225.tgz
2. Execute install.sh in the extracted directory
3. After a reboot, open in the menu "Internet" the newly created Button "HSOConnect"

had absolutely no sound on two different hp laptops:
6830s / 6735b

for both this solved the problem:

add
options snd-hda-intel model=laptop
to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

then
sudo alsa force-reload

year, after 6mt, i have now sound on my laptop. :)

Einführung

Da ich einige Zeit brauchte, bis ich alle nötigen Informationen und Details zusammen hatte, um meinen NVIDIA-Chip zum rennen zu bringen, schreibe ich alles Notwendige hier rein.
Auf ein frisch aufgesetztes 64bit (Intel quad-core) Kubuntu 8.04 System soll der NVIDIA Treiber, in meinem Fall für den GeForce 8800 GT Chip installiert werden.

Umgebung einrichten

Folgende Pakete sind für die Installation der NVIDIA Treiber erforderlich:

• build-essential
• xserver-xorg-dev
• linux-headers-generic
• libc6
